I am cleaning my cooker. I have the glass from the oven door out and have been soaking/scrubbing it in cig for a while now-whilst a lot of grime ?? has come off there some stubborn areas. Can I put it in the dishwasher on a 70 degrees temp?

Also-my oven shelves are in the bag with oven pride. They will need swilling/washing after. I have no hard to do such a dodgy job, can they go in the dishwasher too?

:)

Shelves can def go in the dishwasher afterwards. Have you left them for 24 hours in the solution? Tbh, when I did it, the stuff just washed off with the garden hose and all the crud came with it.

Use some oven pride on the glass. It's doesn't take as long and the stubborn bits will disappear. Tis most satisfying!

Oh excellent-I will try that as I've just discovered the glass doesn't fit in the dishwasher anyway!!!!

I'm leaving them all day as i need the oven for dinner tonight and forgot to do it over night :/

Thank you!

on a good housekeeping therad, some one mentioned cleaning with wet dishwasher tablets - had rave reviews apparently...

glass does tend to go dull in the dishwasher, so it might take the shine off the door panels. I believe it is a combination of the very hot water and the caustic cleaning products.

p.s.

My shelves, grill pan and pot-rests all go in the dishwasher. It does tend to take the shine off the enamel, but you can polish them up with half a drop of cooking oil on kitchen roll. Polish it all off again.
