Trying to clean up plaster dust.

Dh has been plastering the lounge, it's looking great but not quite finished. Will need another weekend to finish it, but probably won't be until the weekend after next

My entire house downstairs is covered in a thick film of plaster dust. I've vacuumed, damp dusted, mopped and wiped. Twice. I still have a grey film everywhere. (Before anyone asks, we did try to cover everything, but given the general state of the house, plus 2 DDs 5 and 1.5 it's been less successful than we'd hoped.)

Given that I'm going to have to do it all again in a fortnight, does anyone have any ideas how to make the process any less painful?

A start may be to mix the plaster outside. Only a theory, mind, no actual experience.

He did. You should see the garden He's really very careful, I know the mess is inevitable (to a point!) it's the cleanup that's just flipping awful.

I have a ginormous roll of plastic sheeting and hang it over doors when plastering is going on, actually when anything is going on (the builders have been here so long they have their own mugs in the kitchen).
I have lots of old cloths and t-towels and start wet wiping from the furthest point away. However, the dust is in very small particles in the air and does take a few days for it all to settle and be wiped up.
Also helped if the through-draught can be back towards the main working area, but Mother Nature often dictates that!

Fine mist with water and wipe it up wet, so that you don't send clouds more of it into the air , to resettle again after you've dusted?!

Roll and stroll on the floors and hang dust sheets over all doorways - hammer a long nail into each of the top corners of the architrave (you won't see the holes once you've done and removed the nails) and hang the dustsheets over those.
