Left underfloor heating on while on holiday - how much??!??

We left on Monday morning and came back tonight to discover that we'd left the underfloor heating on in the bathroom.

So that's roughly 7 days of electrical underfloor heating on.

Arrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Has anyone got any idea how much this might cost us?? I'm going to call our provider (Scottish power) but would love it if someone could give me a ballpark!

Ok I did my research (while sending DD back to sleep on my chest!) and it turns out to be 0.6p per square metre per hour. So I calculated 0.64168 (4square meters of bathroom, 168 hours in 7 days). that's 400 quid roughly. Oh dear…

Really? That expensive? I would get it confirmed by the energy company so you are sure. Poor you, what a nightmare.

Bloody hell. Seems an expensive luxury that! Re I d me never to get it! Not helpful I know.

Surely that's 400 pence not pounds?

Panic not OP, it's actually £40.32!

OwlCapone · 25/08/2014 07:01

£4.03

Saralyn · 25/08/2014 07:02

He he, blueberryjeans is correct, it is only 4.03 pounds. Nobody would have installed floor heating if it cost 400 pounds per week.

FoxyHarlow123 · 25/08/2014 07:05

How is everyone getting £4?

Surely it also has a thermostat so it won't be using energy all the time.
