My Hotpoint WT741 washer has a door issue. The door locked light isn't coming on so the wash won't start. The light comes on at the very start and the door does lock so I suspect it is a sensor issue? I'm going on holiday on Friday - help please

it does sound like the machine is not recognising that the door is shut. Might be wear in the latch, possibly a bad connection, possibly a fault in the PCB.

If it is wear, then jiggling the door might work, if only momentarily.

I don't think you will solve it without a repair(wo)man.

My thoughts exactly. It has just started to work after a good shove So fingers crossed it will do the 2 loads I need will get a repair person out after the hols x

i used to have a similar machine and door closed sensor didn't work. if i switched it all on then pushed door in (shoved it a bit) then the wash would start, meant i couldn't leave it to turn itself on, but other than that it worked ok.

Thanks redcaryellowcar. I got a small load done to sort my holiday clothes but it seems to dislodge something when it spins. I have a friend's machine booked for the post holiday washes .Then a call to Hotpoint
