Help, living room stinks of vomit!

Hi all, my 20 month old daughter was ill and vomited all over the living room carpet, sorry for tmi but it was mostly milk so as you can imagine it stinks to high heaven, have fabreezed it and scrubbed it with numerous cleaners and potions but it's no better!!! Any advice please.

Bio washing detergent, in solution. You can try following up with surgical spirit to get rid of the last traces, if it doesn't damage the carpet.

Do NOT hoover vomit. We made that mistake and had to throw away the hoover - it chucked out the smell whenever switched on after that!

If bio doesn't do it, get Simple Solution pet stain remover from Pets at Home (or similar enzymatic cleaner designed for removing biological pet stains such as cat wee). It's fab at removing smelly vomit, wee etc.

Bicarb is good on smells so you could use that for the last traces but you need a goid blast of enzymes first IMO.

Thanks erin99 some good tips, I will give it another go in the morning! Good job we'd put off a new carpet till little one is bigger!
