Today and tomorrow have been allocated to the 'Big Declutter'.

I got up at 7.15am and have so far done nothing productive (apart from crocheting).

I have 5 hours, starting now, in which to make a dent in the mammoth task of sorting out my chaotic home.

Downstairs is reasonably ok but the three rooms upstairs are in such a mess, I just don't know where to begin.

I like the UFYH approach of doing 20 mins of work then taking a 10 minute break. Or vary the timings to suit you, but keep them fairly short and use a timer to remind you to stop/start. I find that makes it possible for me to face it - 'I only need to do 20 minutes, then I can read my book/Mumsnet/whatever for 10 as a reward'. Also you don't get too tired doing it like that and can get more done in a day than working flat out for a couple of hours.

P.S. I like your name - I've just finished reading the first one of that series to DC. Looking forward to the next one.

I find watching programmes about hoarders is enough to spur me on frighten the shit out of me - seriously!

I'd start with sorting out piles of chuck/to be put away elsewhere/donate.

Good luck! Thanks

Thanks, both Smile

I have the ufyh app so will fire it up and get some inspiration!!

Programmes about hoarders are quite motivating too but I find them so sad.

Re NN...I love the books!! Would have quite happily read them by myself Grin!!
