How to go about getting curtains & blind to match?

We've lived in our house for 9
years and originally bought some cheap cream curtains from supermarket to make do until we had the money to do it properly. One wedding &
2 dc later we now have some money to do it properly. This is for the living room. I would like full length curtains for the patio door windows and then a matching or co-ordinating roman blind for the other window.
I am clueless when it comes to these things. Would I need to choose material and get these specially made?
Should I go to a private curtain maker or a main shop?
How much roughly would this cost?
Thanks for any help.

www.grahamsandersoninteriors.com can make coordinating Romans and curtains. You supply your measurements and they make to your specification (you choose from their fabrics)

Lots of places do it, from John Lewis to Dunelm Mill. You can also look in your local yellow pages or equivalent for soft furnishings person who will make them up for you, some you have to provide your own fabric (they'll be able to advise) or others have a stock of their own fabrics.

Cost wise, it depends on what you want but patio door curtains, bespoke, fully lined won't be cheap. Budget for hundreds. Probably £500 for the blind & the curtains, depending on the fabrics you choose and the style you go for (eg pencil pleat header curtains use a lot more fabric than eyelets or tab tops and so will be much more expensive).
