washing machine dilema

so long story short I had fab panasonic 1600 spin, 8kg, really smart and SUPER quiet, good looking etc. friends were jealous kind of washing machine. i recommended it to everyone. 3 and half years in. fault. under 6 year warranty but awful service from repair people, complained to manufacturer and got my free replacement or refund. going to take the refund as not sure i trust the service people, but happy with the machine (till it broke of course! lol) and the service from them now they sorting my complaint out.
NOW i am looking at something that is superbly silent really, smart, and not Miele as cannot afford it and anything that is pref less than £750.
And lesson learnt will require 5 year guarantee at least.

which one would you go? and why?
i like them coz of apparently low noise level, drum size, high spin, functions, and the slight chrome look about them etc. and reviews of course!

Crazy8 thanks for your input. I do laundry every day, at least once, it is doing my head in! but i dont have a tumble dryer so went for smaller drum capacity, that i know will fit on my dryer lol. the practical lady i am!

so after spending whole day researching this dh decided at about 11pm last night to go over the shortlist, 1600 spin takes it down a lot! He had a little weep over the panasonic not being so good anymore blah blah (man) and then read over the new technologies and reviews, we had found very little negative comments about the bubble, loads about the new panasonic though! so the 5 year warranty was a deal breaker, there was a bosh in JL with extended warranty, abut apparently he doesnt trust them (we never owned anything bosh before....?!)

my new beast is coming tomorrow. after more than 3 weeks without a washing machine (withdrawal symptoms haha, colour coding ocd kicks in) I might actually stroke it when it is here! lol

I've got a Samsung ecobubble with 1600 spin speed. It's the best washing machine I've ever had (had Indesit and Bosch previously, both which lasted well but the Samsung blows them away).

I've NEVER used fabric conditioner in mine and use Persil bio powder. The high spin speed means drier clothes so shorter time in the dryer. You'll love it

mine has just arrived. have calibrated and put an empty cycle on according to instructions. now i have to decide to prioritise my two week backlog
what do you think is the cycle to wash husbands tshirts jeans underpants socks and other darkish bits like swimming towels on? is cotton a bit of overkill? think too much for the jeans. would synthetics or dark wash (maybe too short) be better or the denim?!

On mine you can set your own favourite wash setting (called My Cycle). We use this for everything except woollens/delicates.

It's a 54 min programme at 40deg but you can flip this to 30 or 60 with a press of a button.

so my feedback so far, few washes in. if anyone is interested...

it is definitely louder than the panasonic ever was! i would not say it is a quiet machine, certainly not on 1600 spin,then it is LOUD, although during the rest of the cycle, mostly quiet, most noise caused by the pump to be honest.

it is not as smart looking as the panasonic was. the finish is a little rushed I think BUT i would rather have better engine than finish lol

on the first eco wash the bubbles remained on the door and the rubber so after the wash finished, i had to wipe these first before taking clothes out as would get onto the clothes when pulled out. i had reduced the amount of powder on the next wash and it didn't happen again, so it is possible that i need to use less powder? anyone else noticed the need for less powder? which would be great!

third wash in one of the sports socks got stuck under the door so didn't get washed. again, never had this problem before with my last washer.

Mine isn't that noisy even on 1600 spin. I don't get leftover bubbles either. Are you sure it is level, have you adjusted the feet? I use 100-130ish mls (I think it's mls on the scoop anyway) and we have soft water

I am going to do further testing loads today. will let you know how i get on!

it does seem to clean even with less powder so that is a plus. I think i put 100 in the last load.

I am doing a wash today too - it is quite gurgly throughout the wash tbh. I am doing a daily wash but have added in 2 extra rinses. You can have up to 5 and can change the spin speeds too.

I have just bought a Samsung Ecobubble too! Have to say that washing/drying has never been so pleasureable ( as much as it can be). I love the 15 min wash, used that loads. It isn't that quiet on 1400 spin but quieter than my old AEG. Agree with less powder and far less softener - so strange as we live in a hard water area, yet my clothes have never been so soft. Washed an old white towelling dressing gown today which I was about to throw out and it has come out so white and so soft.

i have it on again on cotton 60 and spin. and 2 rooms away from the washer i can only hear the clicking of the buttons on the glass door. so i suppose this bit of cycle - main wash - is not loud at all!

also, do you have the ecobubble setting on all the time? that's the idea right?

no bubbles after the last wash so defo think less powder needed!

btw how do you wash your delicate clothes? I used to have a setting on my old machine that was basically a short wash, followed by a quick rinse and than gentle spin 400 - 800 by choice.

the dark wash uses too many rinses I think and denim is long too. would you say handwash or the wool as the gentlest of cycles?

Try handwash. The wool wash on mine leaves things a bit damper as it reduces the spin speed automatically.

And yes, try adjusting the feet to make it quieter

Update! so several washes later I LOVE IT! Thank you thank you for helping me make up my mind! The odd sock in the door is annoying but i started using a little bags for them and the colour catchers. the powder consumption has definitely gone down, using now bare minimum of the recommended dosage by the powder manufacturer even though larger drum and hard water area. i have turned off the songs though as the noise was driving me mad lol. but now i dont know that the cycle has actually finished as it is indeed very quiet. the 1600 spin is louder than the rest but for about 1 min the most so i can live with that!
But i have tried to register the machine with samsung. online told me it has gone through and issued me with a reg number but i have not received any email. spoke to customer service who said wait a day or so. week later still no email?! will email them again with the photo of the panel from the back of washing machine as if i try it register online again it says this machine is already registered...
