Kitchen bin

Apologies for such a boring topic.
I'm looking for a new kitchen bin. We currently have a small 12l brabantia for rubbish and we just use a jute bag for recycling. Since having ds I feel that the bins are needing to go out much more often. We recycle loads so the jute bag fills quickly and now ds is crawling/nearly walking he likes to empty the bag!
So I had an idea of getting 2 bigger bins, maybe 20-30l but I can't believe how expensive they are!
Any recommendations? What do you do with recycling? Where did you buy your bin?
The kitchen isn't very big and we don't have a utility room sadly. The bin currently lives in front of the kitchen door as there is no where else in the kitchen for it! Thankfully we don't use that door very often, but I need to be able to lift it if there was a fire etc. thanks if you got this far about bins!!

Watching with interest. I was just looking on amazon for bins and can't believe how expensive they. We have one with a foot pedal from homebase but pedal is now broken.

They are ridiculously expensive aren't they?!

Excellent bin, looks stainless steel but is easily washed plastic. Ours have been going three years and look brand new

Looks good but might be too big. Will look see if they do a smaller version.

I love my bin. can't believe I just said that but I do. had expensive ones in the past but hated it.

This one was from homebase but argos etc do them too. plastic with a roll top bin. let me know if you want me to find the link. fits a black bin bag perfectly, easy to clean, easy to get the rubbish out unlike my last bin. its made doing the bins so much less of a chore. it was about £15!

I was given a 50L Brabantia touch bin as a present (my request) and I love it.

We've got a box with a lid from ikea for our recycling - out old box was also bring emptied by a crawling DS. I found him one day with a tin can in his mouth...

Our kitchen bin is just a BHS metal pedal bin - I think it's 30l. We've had it for five years, and it's still in decent condition. If I could buy a new one though, I'd get a SimpleHuman one, they're lovely and soft closing.

4littleones yes please!
I looked at the simple human ones as their bags fit our current brabantia better than their own but the bins seem similar price to brabantia sadly.
