Why does my bathroom sometimes smell of onions?

Some mornings there is an oniony smell in the bathroom which disappears after a short while. It's a downstairs bathroom two doors away from the kitchen, but it even happens when we didn't cook with onions the night before.

I know it also happens to others as I've discussed it previously IRL. But no-one seems to know why it happens!

Thought I'd check with the combined knowledge of MN Smile

It will be food smells in your urine. Onions, mince, etc. I work in a lab processing urine and I could tell you what each of them have had for their dinner. Disgusting but someone has to do it.

Oooooohhh that's interesting!

What does it mean if your wee always smells of sugar puffs?

springbabydays · 27/07/2014 08:32

That's grim. Why is it always onions then? We don't get any other foody type smells.

Sugar puffs madame? I'd be grateful!

Sugar puffs wee is coffee I think.
My bathroom often smells of what next door (terrace) is cooking. It often smells of sweetcorn, which doesn't get past the door in our house!
