Help! Colour run sari what can I do??

I borrowed a Sari, I washed it in the machine on a handwash cycle 20 degrees, I thought it would be fine I dried it on the line and once it was dry noticed the colour had run in places. I have to either try and get the colour run out of confess to my friend that I have ruined her sari.......... Sad

Is there anything I can do?

Buy her a new one? (Did you not think to ask her about washing it?) You do need to own up, as it is up to her. If the colour runs are in places that don't show, or if it was an old or cheap one she may not mind, but would probably still appreciate a replacement.

I will offer to replace it but it was about 15yrs old so might not be able to get one the same.

I have never worn a sari before so didn't think it wouldn't be hand washable in a machine tbh :/

I guess she hasn't washed it very often, and then only by hand with a cold/salted wash. If it's that old, could she have hand dyed it herself at some point to give it a stronger colour? Could it be re dyed? You'd need to ask her really, it might have sentimental value for her, or she might not mind at all. :)
