Hi all,

Didn't notice that toddler was going around with a leaky biro yesterday until it was too late :( Can anything budge these stains from my tiles?

Johnsons baby wipes and much elbow grease !

Try WD40 or a bicarb of soda paste.

Thank you! The bicarb seems to be shifting it a bit alright.

Magic Erasers should shift it.

biro ink dissolves in alcohol, so meths, gin, vodka or brandy will do it. Meths is cheapest, and I think strongest. You mix it with WUL to hold the dye as the alcohol quickly evaporates away, and usually work it round with a brush or fop a pad of kitchen roll, soaked in the mixture, on the stain to soak in. The WUL can be sponged away with water.

If the surface is at all absorbent, the stain may soak in. You can use that method on clothes too, but a purple stain usually remains.

Hairspray or nail varnish remover might work.
