Fire safety check-how clean..

does my house have to be? Got the fire brigade coming tomorrow to do a check and install smoke alarms.Have got to clean house today.I am worried they going to say all the clutter is a fire hazard and tell us off.Anyone had this done? what did they do?

They will look everywhere which I wasn't expecting! (they check plus sockets etc) As long as the escape route is clear though I'm sure they won't say anything about any clutter. We've just had one and have only just moved house so the place is a tip but it was invaluable for advice about fire doors, escape routes etc. Not to mention the 10 year fire alarms are brill so we don't have to worry about where to put them or change batteries.
