Suggestions for storing stuffed toys?

Dc's have so many bears and they are quite attached to a lot of them. It's gotten to the stage that changing their beds is a hell of a chore. How do you all keep teddies organised?

A small hammock or net strung across one corner of the ceiling is great for lobbing them all into, keeps them well out of the way, only problem is when the DC want to get them down to play with them!

I hate stuffed toys .

Dd is was obsessed with them and dh was constantly buying her them ! I have loads to charity ages ago but she still has quite a few .

And now ds is here was have everyone buying him them too !

I had over 300 when I was little, my Dad got me a hammock and some plastic chains you can hang from the ceilling with pegs on them to peg the teddies to.

Can you rid of some. Get your child to pick some out to send to the sick children in hospital and then donate them to charity.

Most hospitals won't take stuffed toys these days as they pose a health risk.

They won't get rid unfortunately. They're either ones they've picked and stuffed themselves or they're ones from when they were born/first Xmas and birthdays/first Santa visit.

DS has two big, but shallow, tub type things from Ikea. It begins with an S. I didn't bother buying the lid. The stuffed animals sit inthose, and they slide under his bed. He takes a couple out to go to bed with at night, or gets them out to play with during the day, but they live in the crates under his bed. We also keep all of the Duplo in one of those. We have loads of it, and that slides udner the bed too. The good thing about a shallow but large tub for Duplo is that the child can see all of it and find the particular brick they are looking for quite easily, ratehr than having to empty it all out all over the floor.

Mine have the thing in leeloo1's second link. You can squish quite a lot into it.
I also put some away, Christmas ones only come out at Christmas when they sit on they stairs.
Baby ones go in their memory boxes etc.
However if they are keeping them on the beds and it is becoming a chore for you to put them back then I would just get them to put them back.

A large picnic hamper at the end of the bed.

Put them in a beanbag instead of beanbag filling. Tidy plus a comfy seat too!

Carolanne, just to clarify I was suggesting to op tell a little white lie about the toys going yo hospital but just take them to a charity shop instead.

You do need a plan to get rid eventually, of course. We are still providing house room for at least 50% of DD's collection. She's 23 and living in another country, BTW, but would know instantly if I took them to the charity shop. Should have been firmer with her 15 years ago

Moving house, moving to a big boy's/girl's bedroom etc would probably provide good excuses. too late to take own advice

we've got this for DDs cuddlys it's easy to throw them in and squash them in (you may need 2 though!). We keep it on DDs wardrobe out the way but get it down alot for her.

Simple but effective!

I would get a beanbag cover and use them to fill and use as a beanbag. You still get to keep them but don't have to look at them.

Put them in a bin bag and give them to Oxfam
