Stains on whites

Does anyone have a fool proof method for removing stains on whites? Have tried 90 degree wash with added Dylan oxi stain remover and they are still there??

It's good stains on toddler clothes mainly... I'm at my wits end...

You really shouldn't clean them that hot - heat sets the stain rather than removing it Sad

Another time, you need to soak them in a stain remover at something like 40 degrees. I use Biotex but there's loads to choose from. But they all work on enzymes, which get 'killed' at high temperatures, so you have to follow the instructions about what temp to do them at.

The other thing that works well on whites is to put some lemon juice on the stain and put it outside in bright daylight - doesn't have to be full sun, but if you've got that kind of weather that's all good.

For stains on white cottons that have resisted other methods, try soaking in a solution of bleach then wash them again. But AMum is right - don't use very high temperatures on stains because it fixes them.

Do you line dry? Sunlight fades stains fantastically. I didn't really believe this before. Having lived in flats, I had tumble dried everything. Now I have a line,I always love putting my washing out & seeing the stains disappear. Magic.

Bleach.

I rub the stains with washing up liquid and water before washing them in bio powder. I tend to use a 40degree wash.
