...would you use the same stuff for floor to ceiling cupboards in a play room? can't decided whether it would look really good or like a gone-wrong kitchen. I'm kind of tempted by a really bright red. am I a loon?

No
Would be very cool.
Does it chip though??

JackieNo · 11/09/2006 20:23

Think of the fingermarks. They need to be shiny to look good, I suspect.

hermykne · 11/09/2006 20:24

it doesnt chip, moondog, scavolini italian range, u can bounce a football of it and it wont mark /dint/ damage it. but the kitchen s atart at 10k. but i 'd pay it for that wear and tear.

i'd use it in a playroom too in bright colours.

just supposing you did do it in bright red - what colour would you do the walls in? The other option, that I personally like, would be dark brown, which would be easier to co-ordinate. any other ideas?

Just go for white walls. Than have some of those magnetic shiny strips, for hanging the children's art work on.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 11/09/2006 20:44

ahhh Hulababy - no metalic strips - I'm going to use metallic paint! it's brilliant stuff.

Yes, have seen it. Was going to get some for DD's room, but ended up having to change my plans. Did get bright pink chalkboard paint though, which is also fab.

Twiglett · 11/09/2006 20:47

fingerprints

hermykne · 11/09/2006 20:55

california frau - it 'd be so easy to wipe off not like painted presses where u have ot be careful what u use on them - or get them repainted.

whats that about metalic paint ???

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 11/09/2006 21:21

They are easy to wipe and look smart even if a bit grubby, I had a cream glossy kitchen at my old house and it was fab for a lazy old cow like me. Unlike...
STAINLESS STEEL BINS!!! Has anyone else had one and chucked it because it needs too much work? Life is too short to be polishing a bin.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 11/09/2006 21:28

I'm not scared of polishing - bins or shiney cupboards - I have e-cloths (or eco-cloths, can never remember which they're called)

OP posts:
NotAnOtter · 11/09/2006 21:32

i would do it but only cream...its like the great aga debate - cream everytime due to fingermarks

aitch71 · 11/09/2006 21:40

e-cloths... the only thing for shiny cupboards. we have a Hacker Kuchen kitchen, it's brilliant and the surfaces are easy to keep clean.
