Zanussi washing machine aaarrrggghhh

It fills with water then sits there until the end of the programme and empties out ? why wont it spin/wash ? any ideas i have cleaned out the filter

I had a hotpoint rather than zanussi that did that and in my case it was the belt that turns the drum that had come off.

Yes, it the machine turns on, fills and appears to go through the full cycle excepting turning/spinning - this would indicate the belt has come off, so the drum cannot turn.

Does the machine make the sound like it is trying to turn?
