For me, it's:

  • emptying the contents of the small food waste bin into the large one outside. Fiddly and messy. Why do the caddy liner bags never fit properly and split so easily?!
  • cleaning our pokey shower cubicle with it's annoying bi-fold door, mosaic tiles and miles of white (or it should be white!) grout! It was here when we moved in I should add!!

Am I overlooking something far more hideous but as commonplace though?!

Big: wiping down woodwork. I always find a reason not to do this.

Little: cleaning the cat litter tray, and washing up. I am anal about washing up and don't really trust anyone to do it properly, certainly not my 11 year old DS. I SO miss my dishwasher, but there isn't plumbing or space for it here :(. It's the only thing I don't like about this house.

Applelicious · 25/06/2014 21:33

Washing up! Oh, how I long for a dishwasher.

But yes, also sorting and putting away clean washing. Sooo boring and time consuming.

Rinsing and washing out the recyclable stuff like milk cartons and plastic food containers...I really hate it with a passion (and sometimes, only very sometimes, throw them in the normal bin when DP isn't looking because I just can't be arsed Blush!!)

RonSwansonsLushMoustache · 26/06/2014 18:59

Cleaning the Bloody Fucking shower cubicle. I'd rip the thing out if we weren't planning to sell soon. How do the designers and fitters expect you to clean all the mung and dust out of the tiny little gaps and nooks and crannies? [seethe]

HolgerDanske · 26/06/2014 19:02

I hate cleaning the fridge. Just did it today.

WestEast · 26/06/2014 19:04

Putting washing away. Hate it.

ginzillas · 26/06/2014 20:05

I hate ironing and never do it! I don't think any of us look too crumpled though. I also really detest cleaning the bathroom and usually leave it to Dh. I'm quite partial to a spot of hoovering and polishing though.

betold · 27/06/2014 07:15

Needtobe, have you tried the biodegradable carrier bags from the co-op for your food caddy? Much bigger, stronger and cheaper than the ones on a roll.

I hate cleaning the shower cubical too.

needtobediscreet · 28/06/2014 17:15

I'll try those bags betold, thanks!

Ginzillas - I find hoovering strangely therapeutic apart from doing the stairs which I hate!

Emptying the dishwasher - especially when there is loads of plastic/Tupperware in there that hasn't dried properly.

Also HATE preparing salad - but love eating it.

Rhubarbgarden · 29/06/2014 08:12

Anything involving food mess. So emptying the food caddy, wiping up children's mess under the table, wiping surfaces.

I never iron. The secret is hanging things properly on the line. If you hang correctly, as soon as the wash finishes, and then fold straight from line to laundry basket, you never get creases.

Yika · 29/06/2014 08:21

I enjoy ironing :)

I HATE putting the bins out. So much so that my heart actually sinks when I realise it's bin day. I've been known to procrastinate for hours before doing it. The whole operation takes around 5 minutes, I don't know what my problem is. I'd actually rather do an hour of ironing!

I will happily do a mountain of ironing and put it all away,do tons of washing up and clean the cooker.

But I absolutely hate the BITS that seem to pile up no matter what I do.

I have a dining room table that is never clear - because of THE BITS. I cant put anything else on top of the microwave or on the bottom step of the stairs because of them. Where do they come from? They are all necessary-receipts,invoices,photos,appointment cards, ear pieces off headphones, sunglasses, spare buttons off new clothes etc etc etc.

Aaarrrrggghhh.

4littleones · 30/06/2014 11:59

I'm interested In why people iron if they hate it? I certainly don't see It as a necessity. If you shake/brush the creases out as you hang It, and hang it neatly then it's fine without the need to iron. I guess if you have work shirts then that's different but would only ever iron those.

I hate putting clean washing away and general tidying up stuff that just gets left around.

We have a roomba and a scooba to hoover and mop the floor so don't need to do that Smile

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 30/06/2014 15:02

I really should have hoovered today but I just can't be arsed.... Blush

Ilovecake80 · 30/06/2014 22:31

Ironing is the worst I put it off until I literally have a mountain or until we have no school or work clothes left then I do hours of it. Usually Monday night. I have done hours tonight and still not finished...

Washing up second but I make sure I do that twice a day so wish we had room for a dishwasher dam you tiny terraced house kitchen.

Love shredding bills any paper really.
