I think cuddly toys are ruining my life!!

seriously the bloody things take over . They are so annoying. hard to store, totally useless yet the kids get so attached to them.

I have 2 girls sharing a room and it's not a big space. They have very little floor space and a lot of it is taken up by washing baskets of soft toys. This means they don't have enough space to play. I regularly De clutter them and get rid of any that are a bit crap or that I know the kids won't notice if they dissappear.
but it's really not solving the problem.

unless I get rid of nearly all of them, I can't see it ever ending Sad

am I alone?

Nine bin liners of them went to the charity shop when we moved. If we'd done it sooner we probably wouldn't have had to moveHmm

Oh my, this thread is my spiritual home. I have one dd and more teddys than build a bear. We have never been allowed to throw even one away. Last week I got 6 of the really massive laundry bags ( designed for king size duvets) I filled them all and the room didn't look any different. Cuddly toys have taken over my life.

A beanbag stuffed with soft toys! No dusty toys, no pesky polystyrene beads leaking out.

I think cuddly toys are ruining my life!!

LumpySpacedPrincess · 25/06/2014 06:40

Dh wants to skin them and make them into trousers. Grin

I have a one in, one out rule to keep it under some sort of control. Still got 100 or so in the house I would guess.

Im feeling the same - just had a birthday and my DC got about 5 new ones.

I want to charity shop the old ones.

Lucked · 29/06/2014 19:45

Door shoe storage?

this or if you have lots of little ones you can get them with more small pockets.

Lucked · 29/06/2014 19:49

Do you have a spare £87

LizzieMint · 29/06/2014 19:55

Ah I was just going to suggest the zookeeper storage - I love the look of it but haven't got one. We have several bin bags of them in the loft, bedfuls of them and loads more lying around. I must admit I do contribute to it a bit, bought the kids a giant cuddly bunny at Easter (sooo cute! ;)) and just bought my littlest another mouse for her collection. But every time we're at the charity shop they want to get another one. A cull is coming for when we move.

Google Campana Brothers Toy Chair - good use of surplus toys!! Would love to make one - good for story time Grin

Put some at the foot of their bed(if it is situated against a wall).

Build a few rows of shelves. Ensure the shelves are wide enough to hold the soft toys.

Openup41 · 01/07/2014 16:12

My dcs have roughly 15-20 soft toys each and I think even this is a lot. They do make a bedroom appear more homely.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 01/07/2014 20:41

Lucked that is amazing.
