Mine is a water butt.
I live in Ireland, where it rains a lot. Smile
The water butt is always overflowing and the top of it is covered in leaves and diety scum and is probably a breeding ground for mosquitos

Bump

A tiny drop of oil will kill the mosquitoes and a grid will stop the leaves.

hollyisalovelyname · 25/06/2014 16:30

Thank you Olbas. There is a grid with vert small holes on the lid

My worst buy was a leaf blower? dont even have that many leaves
and it just scatters them, doesnt blow them into compact little piles like they show you on the adverts lying scumbags very clever sales adverts, shopping channel is my nemesis i cant resist ,if they say it works then it must right ?

also my no-no complete rubbish , if you can stand the smell of burning hair and are prepared to do it every night then yes its great .

hollyisalovelyname · 25/06/2014 19:51

Ohhh I always wanted a leaf blower. I won't bother now.

A kenwood prospero food mixer. It's fine really, even good, but what I really wanted was a shiny, red k-mix. And I still want the k-mix, but now I can't even begin to justify it, and I feel acquisitive and guilty for even wanting a new food mixer when I already have a perfectly good one. Sad

addictedtosugar · 25/06/2014 20:26

Not the point of the thread, but our water butt is connected to the down pipe with one of these and never overfills.

A couple of really weird yellow rubbery things for making poached eggs. Totally useless. The eggs were horrible. But I've not thrown them away yet.

Parietal · 25/06/2014 20:36

dh bought a cordless electric lawnmower. doesn't work on bumpy grass and is still cluttering up the shed years later.

hollyisalovelyname · 25/06/2014 21:13

I have those poached egg things too

OP posts:
e1y1 · 25/06/2014 21:14

I have them Vivienne, they're not that good to be honest.

Holfin · 25/06/2014 21:18

A mini chopper. You have to cut the veg up so small to get it in the chopper you may as well just chop it all or buy pre chopped veggies

Sandthorn · 25/06/2014 21:26

Oh god, I bought those egg things too. I use them once, spent three days trying to remove the welded-on egg, then binned them.

JustSquirted · 25/06/2014 21:32

Plug in electric fly killer. Totally useless. Zero zapped flies.
Wanted something to zap flies when bifold doors are open.

I've been googling them again for this summer. mug

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 25/06/2014 21:52

Holfin beat me to it. Bloody pampered chef party. Hmm

Jergens · 25/06/2014 21:55

Surprised with the mini chopper on here. I love it for chopping up ginger, garlic, etc.

Viviennemary · 25/06/2014 21:55

Can't believe other folk have got those egg things. Grin

Charlie01234 · 25/06/2014 22:06

More egg things here too - we must be able to find a other use for them!!

Charlie01234 · 25/06/2014 22:07

*another

hollyisalovelyname · 25/06/2014 22:18

Oh I have that plug in fly zapper somewhere. I must see does it work though all the rain today has probably drowned them

My worst purchase was a toasted sandwich maker, complete with assorted metal plates (for different varieties of sandwiches?). When little bags appeared in neat packages to do just the same thing, I was really happy to get rid of the huge, difficult-to-clean- and-to-store monster.

PenelopePitstops · 25/06/2014 22:53

Those egg things are the devil!

Don't even know why I got them, took twice as long to poach am egg that glued itself to the rubber.

tankytoppy · 26/06/2014 09:55

Pop the egg poachers in your bra. Instant boob-job Wink
