I have a carpet cleaning emergency!

Our carpets are disgusting. 3 under 5s and general dirt. I saw something on Facebook yesterday about making a paste with bicarbonate soda and water. I put it on the worst patches and now the carpet has gone a murky green colour. It's supposed to be pale blue!

How can I save it?

Oh dear, does it just need a good rinse, have you tried blotting hot water onto patches then blotting it out with a dry towel?

I feel you with the carpet thing. 2nd toddler, sporadically recked.

I recentyl cleaned a jar of Dorito Salsa off using Tesco's own brand Oxi Action powder - the stain remover for laundry type.

Soda water can help bring residues out of carpet - especially from a syphon as the pressure plus the bubbles helps to lift things out.
