cleaning stainless steel cooker hood

I moved into a house with a stainless steel cooker hood extractor and I have run out of ideas on how to get it clean and shiny looking.
have tried bar keepers friend, steam cleaner, microfiber and e-cloths but it still looks like it has water marks or something on it.
I think the previous owners have used an unsuitable cleaner on it as the handles of the cupboards in the kitchen are the same.

Is there anything else I can try or is it a lost cause?

WD40 and a microfiber cloth should help

Wipe it over with baby oil. Not too much though!

yy, baby oil for maintenance, the WD40 for deep cleaning as it's much thinner and so dissolves greasy build up.

tried baby oil and it's made a big difference. not removed the marks completely so will get some wd40 and try that. Thanks!
