Best way to remove sunscreen (??) stains?

Just sorting through the post holiday washing mountain. Lots of the white cotton tops and dresses that the DDs and I wore have odd yellow staining on them. I assume that this is sunscreen residue. Any tips on getting rid, as my usual wash has failed miserably?

No idea but would love to know the answer as have the same problem. Bump!

I have the same problem and it's one stain I don't seem to be able to shift.
I have however swapped to the see through sun cream and it has massively reduced the amount of stains in the first place. But I am still looking for a way of shifting the current stains Sad

Over the years I have tried vanish soap, soaking in bio washing powder overnight and those stain remover powders you put it the machine with your wash (sometimes all 3 in succession!) Bleach hasn't even shifted it. Have resigned myself to binning the odd white top every summer. Might have to try the see through sun cream as long as it comes in factor 50 Grin. Interestingly if you read the side of the bottle it says keep away from clothing.....haha

I have scrubbed the offending stains with neat washing up liquid, then left them to soak in a bucket of bleach solution for 90mins. They're now in the machine again, so I'll report back if it works.

Soak in lemon juice and cover in salt. Low to dry on the line and then wash in the wash machine.

Stains from suncream are actually rust.

Thanks toavoid - will give that a go.

I'm sure I covered the stains with talc last summer. Then washed. I can't remember exactly what I did but I got the tip somewhere online, I need to find it again this year.

I have sun cream stains on the paint work of my car (from children's hands and arms) would love to know how to get rid of them without respraying.

Urghhh this is on my DDs school dress collar. It looks awful like sweat marks!! Been trying to scrub it off too!

hot news - the dilute bleach soak worked !

obviously this is only good for whites though, so still looking for something for the non-whites.
