How do you store toys, arts/crafts etc?

My living room is permanently a tip. There are toys for dd 2 everywhere as she is too little to play alone upstairs.
Ds 6 brings toys down as he doesn't like playing alone in his room. They both have short attention spans and just drop things they've been playing with and start on something else.
They sometimes draw or cut things out and leave mess all over table.
We do have an ikea expedit for storage but I find with the higher up baskets they can't reach them so the stuff in there gets forgotten about.
All dd's books are in the living room too on shelf but maybe these should be upstairs?

I can't cops with the clutter & chaos it causes and feel like I am constantly trying to clear up.

What do other people do to keep things a bit more orderly? The mess is stressing me out!

I only have a baby but I bought an extra large cream ottoman from Argos

It stores a lot and is good in that it doubles as a seat

and some large wicker baskets from Matalan

I love expedit too.

DD (4) has one cupboard in the sideboard for toys and 2 drawers in the coffee table for books and drawing stuff. She doesn't like playing in her room but I generally tidy up whatever she brings down as soon as she's finished playing with it. I can't handle toys lying everywhere!

I have a set of plastic drawers in the kitchen for craft crap, and an ottoman like the one above in the living room. Tbh think I need a clear out.
