I need this too - I've wiped with a sponge, done a hot wash with nothing, done a hot wash with some vinegar, etc etc. The problem is that the mould is higher than the level the water normally gets to, iyswim. I've now started to wipe it dry after I empty it, but I'd still like to get rid of the mould...

Try a bleach solution leave it to work then scrub. Run a maintenance cycle on hottest setting with bleach and detergent after that. It maybe that you need to leave the door open for a little while after you've washed clothes, to let the machine dry out.
To stop it returning you could wash coloureds then do your whites as it can happen with low temp loads.
Good Luck!

ps just in case, don't do bleach and vinegar together it produces a potent vapour.

Smelly washing machines from ukwhitegoods.co.uk

I know you didn't ask about smelly, but this is about keeping them clean and nice in general!

NB A very hot wash with some teatowels or similar in will help slosh the water into the mouldy bits.

Thanks all for the tips. I think I was a bit wary of using bleach neat on the rubber, but that may be what I have to try. I always leave the door open to air after use anyway, and it looks like carrying on wiping is the way to go. Thank you.
