help - where can I get new wire baskets for old chest freezer

We rent our house, and it comes with a vast, old chest freezer. It has two baskets at the top, but other than that is just a big frozen black hole.

I'm starting to stock it up but I'm going to lose everything down the bottom unless I can find some way of organising it. I'm also short and can scarccely reach to the bottom, which doesn't help.

I'm not sure if I could use cheap plastic baskets as won't they get brittle in the cold. And not even Lakeland have anything, so now I really don't know what to do...

try your local freecycle group - put a wanted on - someone may be able to help.

thankyou everyone, that's several v helpful solutions. Even if I am going to worry about the poor cold hamsters for a while yet...

We have a huge chest freezer too and I put some upturned plastic boxes in the base. This means we have half the storage space, but we never need it all anyway and it makes it so much easier to reach things. It also saves energy as there is less volume for the cold air to be circulating in.
