I find sometimes that the housework gets on top of me with a 6 month old to look after. The bathroom and hoovering needs doing and it's constantly on the back of my mind. I wish I had more of a system!! I wondered if anyone had any tips? X

No tips from me because I am a nightmare when it comes to household chores! But posting here to keep an eye on any tips Smile my DD is 9 months and I'm back at work now and struggling even more to find the energy to clean and tidy up (especially with a DP who doesn't se bothered by all kitchen surfaces being taken up by dirty dishes and a bathroom in desperate need of a deep clean!)

I agree, finding the energy sometimes is also an issue!

Cut yourself some slack. People don't notice half as much as you think they do.
You could always invest in a Roomba or a cleaner for a couple of hours a week? Get a dishwasher. 15mins in each room is meant to be good flylady gets mentioned on here a lot.
When baby starts toddling you can give them a baby wipe to 'help' with.
Good luck, but mainly don't sweat it. Just enjoy your kids before they start wanting to cover everything in paint/stickers/glitter etc Grin

I second the advice of doing 15 minutes at a time, you'd be surprised how much you can get done in 15 minutes and i find that once i get started i keep going. When baby naps just do 15 minutes and then take a break, if you feel like doing more then go for it, if not its ok, nobody expects your house to be spotless when you have a little one.

15 minutes works for me and I'm definitely rubbish with housework. I can now look at a room and know what I'll get done in 15 mins which can be really encouraging.
