Some f*ckin bastard............

Has put all their cr*p in my bin!!!!

New recycling scheme starting - one big bin (our old one) for recycling, to be collected every other week. One little new bin, for all normal waste, to be collected weekly.

Old system was emptied yesterday, new one starts as of now.

Went out to chuck some pull ups in the new shiney bin, and got attacked by flies... opened it to find it full to the brim with someone else's rubbish - clearly something rotting by the smell and the flies, AND a beer can chucked in by some tosser walking down the street.

So, I have nowhere to put my rubbish for this week, I have a brand new bin that is stinking and covered with flies, and I know that my neighbours are complete bastards!

Filling up someone's bin late at night when they are being emptied first thing - I don't have a problem with (although I would rather be asked). Filling a brand new bin with your cr*p the day after collection (or its probably been in there longer, judging by the flies) is just horrible!!!!!! AND I start the first week with non-sorted rubbish!!

Just fuming

I don't understand how people can be so inconsiderate!

I know it seems a small thing, but I have waited a long time for our council to start doing something decent with recycling, and with 2 small children, I don't want to have to store rotting rubbish in my house!

I'm now going to have to start storing my bins in my back garden, involving wheeling them through my house once a week

Can you get a padlock for it, FS?

That's minging though - how vile

chocybickie · 30/08/2006 12:06

I have exactly the same problem.
My new neighbours started filling up my bin on binday. Then even helpfully picked up my recycling bags and threw them in too!
Nothing but direct confrontration worked in my situation. You have to say something.

colditz · 30/08/2006 12:07

on your behalf, this gets done to me sometimes, it's so annoying isn't it! Get a chain and padlock for it.

Avalon · 30/08/2006 12:07

Might be worth contacting the council to see if they'll come round and empty the bin?

colditz · 30/08/2006 12:08

if it wasn't so stinking, could you go through the bag to see if there are any addressed letters? Then report them! It's flytipping!

Flamesparrow · 30/08/2006 12:09

Oooh will phone and see if I can rant at someone about the other dirty bin too

No idea which neighbours did it. The ones either side are really nice and quiet, but opposite is loads of student lets

flame can see why you are mad and for you

mummyhill · 30/08/2006 12:45

for you flame.

Ohhh stick a peg on your nose grab a pair of marigolds and find out who it is then dump it back on their dive with a polite notice to f off and dispose of it correctly next time!!!!!!

Flamesparrow · 30/08/2006 13:24

Phoned the council - they said to empty it back into the old bin, and that they will send someone to empty it tomorrow.

Moving the bins closer to our house to make it less appealing....

Glad the council are going to do something about it for you hun.

charliecat · 30/08/2006 14:45

My neighbours used to do this to me...sometimes they even lobgbed the rubbish bags in my garden cheeky feckers. I took to emptying the huge wheely bin outsife thier back gate. they got the hint after the 2nd time.

sorkycake · 30/08/2006 17:27

Ooh Flame that's outrageous! [angry} for you!
I would don gloves and go delving then dump it outside their door!
This is my only concern over the chipped bin schemes being touted, what happens if your neighbours have too much rubbish and fill up your bin?

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 30/08/2006 21:25

Well it'll be the ones with the fullest bin and emptiest recycling bin on binday won't it? Next time knock on their door the night before and aks if you can leave your excess bags in their front garden for the night.

This is what worries me about fife council going to once fortnightly refuse collections in March. I have visions of neighbours all creeping round filling up empty bins so they don't get their rubbish dumped on the street and £50 fines!

Flamesparrow · 31/08/2006 09:42

DH got home and emptied it and said the smell was foul - he thinks it was something dead in there . The bottom of my new shiney bin was full of maggots

Considering how to attach a lock to it....
