What can I do? It is a Sharpies black pen and it's all over a white wardrobe door. Any ideas?

Mix some bicarb and toothpaste, smear onto stain and then scrub off.
My DH used permanent marker on dry wipe board about 6 months ago and I only got to cleaning it yesterday and it's all gone.
Or WD40

TedGlen · 13/05/2014 18:58

Nail varnish remover is worth a try. Hope it comes off.

SueDNim · 13/05/2014 18:59

It will probably be soluble in a solvent other than water. So perhaps meths, nail polish remover, vodka, WD40 etc.

TittyBojangles · 13/05/2014 18:59

Alcohol hand rub stuff works.

Chopsypie · 13/05/2014 18:59

Hairspray
Wd40

avoiretre · 13/05/2014 19:00

Have you tried white spirit? Works for most things like this.

GeraldineFangedVagine · 13/05/2014 19:01

acetone

tethersend · 13/05/2014 19:07

Hairspray.

kansasmum · 13/05/2014 20:11

Antibacterial hand gel will get it off.

jamaisjedors · 13/05/2014 20:25

magic eraser

Rosarosae · 13/05/2014 20:57

Thank you all! Haven't tried all your ideas yet but the one thing I've tried so far is the toothpaste, which worked quite well. Some bits didn't shift, though, so I'll try the hand gel ( who'd knew?) and a few of the other recommendations tomorrow. Thank you, thank you, thank you - I thought nothing would remove the stuff!! It did take me 40 mins as there was so much of it, but at least it can be done!! Xx

if it is permanent marker on a dry wipe board, going over it with a dry wipe marker works. (common problem in teaching places..)

might work on your wardrobe?

MrsCakesPremonition · 14/05/2014 10:08

Wet wipes are good for stripping most stuff which makes me wonder about what they do to skin.

snowgirl1 · 14/05/2014 10:10

Magic eraser (and some elbow grease) got the permanent marker off the six (yes, six) kitchen cabinets that DD drew on with permanent marker

madamginger · 14/05/2014 10:10

I used meths for cleaning a white worktop at work and its magic for cleaning off pen marks.

Evoke · 14/05/2014 22:15

My son said you can get rid of this with a plain marker, think its called a window marker. Hairspray works also. My son is marker mad.

MaryPoppinsBag · 03/06/2014 17:55

My DS who was 4 at the time wrote our names on our bedroom door in permanent marker. And I found that it came of with one of those magic eraser sponges. I had to scrub quite hard and the sponge disintegrated but it came off.

Andythejoiner · 03/06/2014 21:19

Turbintine works every time

Chatelaine123 · 03/06/2014 22:59

If all else fails, cover it with a beautiful drawing by your DD!
