total holiday house pillowcases isn't it.

hermykne · 28/08/2006 19:23

love it

MrsApronstrings · 28/08/2006 19:23

is it expensive...there is something about it I really love..but not sure I would want it for 5 years. really good for a utility room or laundry

spots · 28/08/2006 19:26

don't know price. new kitchen is really really serious... high gloss cream units, greenish corian worktops... all v. expensive... have deep desire to undermine it with something like this and sort of think it would be brilliant! Also we have lots of mint green utensils.

I think it's gorgeous, but brave.

southeastastra · 28/08/2006 19:28

it's groovy you could always put a rug over it if it's too much sometimes

sunchowder · 28/08/2006 19:29

I love it, with solid cream cabinets and soft green corian or stone countertopshuge cream AGAyou can always cover it in five years if you can't stand it anymore.

desperateSCOUSEwife · 28/08/2006 19:31

a bit dizzy for me tbh

MrsApronstrings · 28/08/2006 19:33

can you see it in real life before you buy? looks expensive i think

NomDePlume · 28/08/2006 19:33

very busy. I like it in a retro wallpaper on one wall kind of a way, but as flooring I wouldn't have it.

hermykne · 28/08/2006 19:34

why do u mention 5 years? has it a life span?

MrsApronstrings · 28/08/2006 19:36

i mentioned five years thinking about how soon I could feel i had had enough of it and persuade dh we needed to change it. the funkier you choose the quicker it dates - even if it is retro like this floor

spots · 28/08/2006 20:56

It is £17.99/sq m by the way, just found out.

It reminds me of when I was little in the Seventies, lots of people had Lino like that in their kitchens but usually a little more orange/brown combo. very retro!

is it a big floor area ?

heiferjamese · 28/08/2006 21:13

Sorry but I think it could totally ruin what sounds like a very chic kitchen....

Don't do it..... AND I reckon it would fell like you have a hangover EVERY morning without the good time the night before....

spots · 28/08/2006 21:21

It's not a massive kitchen but will have dining table etc. in. I actually think it could look great if the greens went with the worktop. Quite light without being vulnerable to staining. If it was expensive I definitely wouldn't do it, but as it is...

will tread carefully however, agree one could get very very sick of it.

But...

There's a gallery of pics on the right hand side of the link which has the orange version of this in a kitchen (second row of pics down, right hand side). Gives you a bit more of an idea what it might be like...

MrsApronstrings · 28/08/2006 21:30

if you love it go for it. I often pick something i really like and build the room around it. Admittedly generally smaller purchases, but sometimes expensive and I have to say if they mkae you smile everytime you see them they are def and investment and in my hum drum sahm life priceless!!

Adorabelle · 28/08/2006 22:20

I think it's FAB.

Asked my dh to have a look too (he's very critical when it comes to interior design) he loved it too

I'd have it in my home in a second

AvaLou · 29/08/2006 12:36

If you want something unusual you could go for mint green rubber flooring.
We had our bathroom done in it and I love it.

Joolstoo · 29/08/2006 12:38

ooh no - it would drive me potty - I'm not into pattern generally
