That 'vanish' carpet cleaner powder on the telly.....

Is it any good? I saw an advert the other day - a 'vanish' ambulance crew arrive to deal with a grubby carpet. They sprinkle powder and then vacuum it up to rapturous applause. The two-tone look where dirt meets clean at the edge of rugs is gone. Wondrous! Or is it? Do I need this stuff in my life or would I be better making the family spend the summer outside the house or buying something better?

Didn't do much for me I'm afraid.

I tried and the results looked nothing like on the telly. It blocked up my Hoover too. If I were you, I'd invest in a carpet shampoo-er. I finally cracked and bought a Vax one and it does the job on my cream carpets.

Thank you for saving my pennies (and possibly my hoover too!). It did look too good to be true, but sometimes the most unlikely things work....
