I quite want a pricey but nice new dovet and bedding.

Dh things the chepo polly cotton set is fine and doesn't want to spend on a new one.

Been looking at quality ones and they are expensive, but I guess I will use them every night and a good nights sleep is invaluable.

When I replace my bedding (around every 6 to 10 years) the complete stuff costs between £500/600.

Yes totally agree, a good nights sleep is invaluable, you spend a 3rd of every single day in your bed, so buy the best you can - plus, as said, I get up to 10 years out of it, so the cost per year is reasonable.

For example my pillows were £20 each, however, they were worth every single penny.

They are down feel, but are made of microfiber cluster which is brilliant; as I will now not touch Down bedding after I saw the horrific (and I mean horrific) way it's sourced (and I used to love Down bedding) However, it's a personal choice.

I got these pillows and they're ace - I got the superking size, put these into a Oxford size pillow case and they are huge and bouncy.

I also got the duvet to match, which again are amazing, they really do feel like down, but I can sleep without hearing screaming geese/ducks - sorry.

*However, I contacted Marks and Spencer and they advised me their Down is not sourced from live birds.

The site the pillows are on, King of Cotton is a great site, used it a couple of times.

Here is the duvet I got; got the 2 in one version and a separate standard one - they are both brill.

I keep my eyes open for good quality bedding in TKMaxx. I've found some great items in there for bargain prices over the years. All of my duvets, pillows and linen have been found there at huge discounts. Ditto towels.

You can get some very reasonable high thread count sets from the QVC shopping channel, sometimes with interest free monthly payments and they'll let you send it back up to 30 days if you don't like it. The ones I have wash well & have lasted. A set including sheet, pillowcases and duvet cover would be between £60 & £90ish. Their down duvets & pillows are good too, otherwise I have some from John Lewis that have been happy with.
