Christmas Ideas!

Hello. I know it is only August but I am doing the family Christmas this year and am looking for some fun and novel ways to make the day more exciting. No kids just 7 adults. Does anyone have any ideas for table decorations? crackers? etc anything to make the day a bit different. I am starting to think early as I work full time and like to be a bit arty around Christmas and take time over the celebrations. Thank you!

good lord, this is way beyond me
if we had 7 adults and no kids for christmas I wouldn't do very much at all, but I suppose it does mean you can have champagne for breakfast and use the best white table linen without fear of flying trifle...

fraid I agree with MrsBadger
I always look at those magazines that show lovely table decorations and settings and things and think "Where are they going to put the food?"

make your own crakers ? dinner by candle light ? get really pissed on champagne ? go to watch horse racing on boxing day ? our local college does saturday 1/2 courses in making xmas garlands and wreaths.

Me an my sibling/inlaws are doing a kind of Secret Santa this year for the adults to keep costs to £10per head. With 6 adults that allows a £50 each so everyone gets one big present that might actually want, rather than lots of silly £10 things they don't. The picker is responsible for organising the present for his pickee so it's not secret at all.
