Help! Puke all over the carpet!

Yikes! Dd puked copiously all over the carpet in my parents' en suite. I've mopped up the worst and thoroughly covered it in bicarbonate of soda, but what's the best way of cleaning it up in such a way that my father will forgive me this evening. The carpet is plain and so will show any marks.

scrub like a loon

What colour is the carpet? Ds chucked on his dark blue carpet, and I really struggled to get the white bicarb marks out. So just beware!
Hope your dd is feeling better now. Better out than in

Sort of dark peach. Pale puke.

Scrub with what?

Actually I'm amazed that I don't feel guilty. My mum called me in to the bathroom saying that dd was saying she had tummyache and I said that she's just saying it, it doesn't mean anything, she just very tired and this is what she does. Which it often is, but just to keep my dm happy I went in, and as soon as I arrived dd puked 3 times. She was fine afterwards, and happy as Larry once she'd calmed down.

I asked this about blood stains about a week ago and someone suggested dreft (washing powder stuff). They said it HAD to be dreft. My mate (who had the problem) said it worked amazingly well (now she wants to clean her whole carpet as the rest looks dirty).

I'll see if I can find out exactly what they said.

Here it is from FUrball.

mix teasoon of 'dreft' (has to be dreft as it's for wool)with some water and wet stain don't overwet and don't scrub as it'll ruin the carpet pile. Rub with fingers, then mop up with kitchen roll and the stain should go into the paper. leave to dry then hoover to restore carpet texture.

My mate said it worked fantastically.

I have wool soap or detergent at home, but I don't know what my mum has. Shall give it a try - detergent if no wool stuff. Thanks v much.
