Bird poo & washing

We usually dry our washing outside. This year we moved the rotary washing line slightly nearer the house.

Since then we've been plagued by bird poo on the clothes & sheets. I don't remember this in previous years!

So is this a known thing, you need the line far away from the house/other large objects?

Or do other people cover their washing with nets or similar?

I looked on Amazon but such a product doesn't appear to exist.

Sorry for such a dull thread.

if it is only slightly nearer it shouldn't make much difference - but what is above it? (be careful when looking up...)

is your TV aerial overhanging it now, for example?
