We're moving back to the uk after a few years away. Previously have used sky with usual love/hate relationship!
I would ideally like one provide for tv/phone/internet, and would love to know any recommendations or horror stories!!!!
We'll be in London, if that makes a difference.
Thanks so much!

I leave decisions about phone and internet to my husband: he needs decent service for working from home. We have phone with BT, Internet from Virgin. I don't suppose it's the cheapest, but I really have to not be such a control freak, and let him make some of those decisions Blush

TV, on the other hand, we debated at length, and invested last year in a youView box: hard-drive recorder, freeview channels, and the internet players (bbc iplayer; itv player; 4od; demand 5). Frankly it provides as much TV as I'd want to watch, and more. OK, we'll have to wait till next year for GoT to come out on DVD, but I prefer that to enriching Sky. And it wasn't cheap to start out with, but since we've cancelled out BTVision, it's paid for itself. Also love that I can set it record things from my ipad while I'm out and about.

unless you are really into football i can't see a reason for Sky or any other pay-extra services. (you do need to pay your TV licence of course)

freeview TV, recorder box, done.

We have Virgin Media fibre broadband and TV. The bb is seriously quick so if your area has fibre and you need fast internet (DH does a lot of gaming so needs fast upload and download speeds) then I'd recommend considering it. BT and Virgin certainly offer it, I don't know about anyone else.

We have a TiVo box with Virgin, which I like very much, but they all have their own DVR systems. Alternatively, if you don't want to pay a subscription and don't mind having a dish then the Freesat service is excellent.

sandthorn if you do want to watch GOT sooner, or any of sky's other content, you could subscribe to now tv for a fiver a month and then cancel when you've finished. If you wait until s3 is finished and don't mind bingeing then you could blitz it in one month and only pay a fiver for the whole series.

I like the idea of one service provider for the lot, and was thinking of virgin purely as a change from memories of sky driving me mad. However, years ago did have a virgin mobile and they were equally crappy service....
