Have you thought about doing clip frames with collages of photos? We ran out of places to put framed photos and that's what I started doing. I get A3 frames and then have themes for each one - outings, years etc. Then they can be hung up on the wall rather than needing a surface to sit on.

Are these family snapshots or portrait photos?

I bought a cheap A1 size mounting board and a simple frame (from Wilkos) and mounted all my family snapshots on there. You can then hang it anywhere. You can even buy coloured mounting board.

I've seen a really cool digital photoframe which stores several digital photos and shows them in a random order. Thought this was great (although have since forgotten where I saw it )

they're just snapshots, not portraits, i want something quite big so i can keep adding to it.

the digital one sounds great but expensive! i dont think i've seen a wilkos are they well made frames, i usually end up breaking them

The Wilkos is really just a piece of hardboard with acetate clipped to the front, you could probably make a better one yourself.
