I have a systems of red and green.

Red is kitchen tops, dishes, laundry, bathroom, beds made, dining table and toys put away.

Green is everything else, like hoovering mopping, dusting, kitchen cupboards, sorting out.

Red must be done every day and green is my options.

But for some reason I can't keep up with housework.

I have tried fly lady but that didn't help, there is always something to do.

Every day: make beds, clean kitchen work tops
Twice a week: mop kitchen floor
Once a week: Hoover, clean bathroom
When I feel like it: dust, mop hall floor
Special occasions: clean dining room

Laundry as and when, probably five loads a week.

Daily: Hoover and dust living room, laundry, dishes, clean kitchen worktops.
Twice weekly: clean bathroom, utility room, hoover bedrooms, mop kitchen and bathroom floors and ironing.
Weekly: Clean fridge and anything else needing doing.

Go to bed each night with a tidy kitchen/dining room/front room/bathroom.

Most dirt (floors/cupboards/dusting/cobwebs) get cleaned when I see that it needs doing and not really before.

Keep the wash bin at less than over flowing, usually meas 1 load per day minimum (a lot of washing gets done as we have x3 small DC's so still a lot of clothes with food on).

DC's bedrooms get tidied by them once a week/when you can no longer walk across the floor for toys. I will do a through clean of their rooms during term time.

Gardening, once a week when the sun is shining.

TBH I couldn't do a prescriptive list, last night the place got a quick tidy because Game of Thrones was on so I sorted laundry while watching it, I'll do a bit of a catch up this morning. The kitchen floor 'ought' to be mopped but I know that there is no point until later because the DC's + friends will be in and out of the garden all day.
