Moved into a new flat 5 months ago, 3rd floor for background.. All is well;

however moths are everywhere!! I've tried everything; closing the vents on the UPVC windows, never having windows open , lights off etc

Do I contact my landlord? What can I actually do?! Not a clothes problem - yet !

Does anything work ???

You need to invest in several moth-deterrent products and religiously change them once they have expired.

We had a general moth and food moth infestation a couple of years ago. It was hideous.

Kitchenwise, we had to throw out all flours, cereals, etc. Clean all the cupboards and replace food items in sealed containers. The depressing thing is that this is not a guarantee to keep moths out but it's a start.

We also used those sticky pads (for food moths) in most of the kitchen cupboards and were shocked at how many moths we caught. The sticky pad containes pheronomes that are irresistible to moths and break the reproductive cycle.

Householdwise, we had to clean our wardrobes and check all our clothes. Cleaned and vacuumed everything in sight. Used those deterrent balls in the drawers and used similar products in the hanging spaces.

There loads of other things you meant to do to reduce the risk of further infestation.

To be honest, it takes months and you have to replace the stuff when it loses it''s effect. You have to make sure all the eggs, moths and reproduction cyles have been clobbered.

I never thought we would get rid of them but we did....for now.
