Advise me on making sofa covers, and where should I buy fabric?

Going to recover two Sofa Workshop sofas.

I haven't sewn in ages, but I'm methodical and have the old covers to use as a pattern so I'm hoping I'll do OK.

Any tips? Is the piping crucial (no idea how to do it!)?

Where is a good place to buy material sturdy enough at a good price?

Piping is easy if you decide you want to do it, but it isn't essential.

There are lots of guides on YouTube.

Thanks, if it isn't structurally necessary I think I'll give it a miss!

Any tips for where to buy fabric?

I usually find some I like in RL (John Lewis, Fabric World etc.) then I shop around online for the best price. The last lot I got was £4 per metre cheaper than the same in John Lewis.
