What's good for getting wee out of a carpet?

My downstairs cloakroom stinks of wee & its probably due to a small boy & his non existant aim. Its a tricky space & I've not cleaned a carpet before. Is there anything that's good for getting nasty stuff out?

Do you have a steam cleaner? I generally use vanish carpet cleaner so I would do that followed by a steam.
