Cleaning Hall Carpet

Tomorrow i am going to steam the hall carpet, it is a good carpet but with kids in and out and a dog it gets dirty very quick.

When i have steamed it and it has dried i want to then mop it using something that smells nice, what sort of cleaning fluid would you use for this?

Thanks

My friend used to put something like Dettol in the water when she was steaming her carpets rather than doing the job twice IYKWIM. Just a drop though. I guess any disinfectent like Zoflora would leave a fragrance. Don't buy them so I don't know which ones are nice but might work.

I'm gong to do mine too once the kids have gone back to school and I have a whole day to myself (heart racing with excitement at the very thought of a day to myself!). Love them really!

My little boy also starts school in September and I am just planning how much housework I will be able to get done whilst he and DD are at school - I will have no excuse!!

a tiny drop of lavender oil if you like the smell might be nice, dettol smells a bit clinical

why are you going to mop it when you've cleaned it?

just to give it a nice smell as the steamer uses just water but now i see that you can put drops in the water so theres no need!!!
