PJ is amazing!

EarSlaps · 31/03/2014 09:25

He is indeed fantastic. Often if I google a household problem then a MN thread with PJ giving fab advice comes up.

I imagine him to be mid-late fifties yet still with a full head of hair. I'm sure I remember him saying once he was just an enthusiastic amateur but I might be misremembering.

I really need to look at our washing machine drain now I think of it- maintenance washes in my washing machine only keep the stink away for a couple of days and he says that's usually the drain pipe. Can I just pour sink unblocker down it?

hollyisalovelyname · 31/03/2014 09:29

I thought Piglet John was a woman with incredible knowledge. He put me right. Smile

GoodnessIsThatTheTime · 31/03/2014 09:42

Ooh we've got a stinky washing machine too....

PigletJohn is the person who taught me how to crisply find, and clean, the filters on my dishwasher. Had it for a year before I realised I was actually meant to clean them. Almost threw up when I did it the first time after a year's worth of congealed fat on them

Bless you PJ. My filters are always clean now Thanks

ThePearShapedToad · 01/04/2014 12:29

Ha. Crisply= actually
Though I suppose they were crispy after a year...

doglover · 02/04/2014 18:04

He is my hero Smile

hollyisalovelyname · 02/04/2014 18:09

How do you clean the filters on your dishwasher?

ThePearShapedToad · 03/04/2014 08:10

Hot water and an old toothbrush works on mine, just a case of doing them every month

Quite enjoyable now that I don't have a year's worth of scrambled egg stuck in them!

SpacegirlRevisited · 03/04/2014 10:09

I imagine Piglet John in a shirt and tie with a nicely pressed navy cotton drill boiler suit/overall over the top and a pencil behind one ear.

Bet he never does that teeth sucking in thing when pricing a job either.

Fabulous person.

MrsMarigold · 03/04/2014 10:16

He helped me with my house alarm - so lovely. Smile

Swannykazoo · 03/04/2014 10:23

'RTFM' - sound advice indeed! Grin
Esp on dishwasher filters as exactly how you get them out depends on the type.

Rummikub · 05/04/2014 18:23

[Grin] oh ok then.

I do the filter on my washing machine. It's v obvious being at the front.

Is Ms./ Mrs. Piglet John a Mumsnetter too.

PigletJohn · 05/04/2014 19:17

No, she thinks it eats up time.

Cuddlecouch · 06/04/2014 08:51

He worked out our heating and water system when we moved house just from me describing the colour of the water tank. He is amazing. Love you PJ.

BoffinMum · 06/04/2014 21:36

PJ, please can you share your opinions on ground heat pump and air pump technology? Are they cost effective to install and what problems do people often encounter?

PigletJohn · 06/04/2014 22:11

don't know

seems very expensive and I am suspicious of payback.
