Does anyone have a guard or some sort of protective shield over the dials/controls on their washing machine to stop little ones from interfering with the wash?

Cut his hands off

we have the same problem, I've tried draping a table cloth over it to distract her - sort of works, until she remembers its there, sometime things get washed 3 or 4 times

Only kidding, Well I have country style kitchen so I have a gingham curtain in front of mine so that nobody can see that ugly thing called a washing machine.

I just used net curtain wire to hang it and pull it across to access the machine.

I bought one with a child lock (when its on they can press away and nothing happens). In fact my washing maching shopping consisted of "which of your machines have child locks? How does this child lock work? I'll have it".

Do you think we could invent something and make millions of pounds?

Our washing machine has just died and I had 20 minutes in a small shop to choose from 5 models (none of which had a child lock) my husband he just loves to shop

I think that I will try the draped tablecloth- thanks for the suggestion. If I find anything else that works I'll let you know.

I'm just resigned to shouting No constantly, my DD lost interest by 2 and DS is 18m now, so 6m to go! New dishwasher is our problem though, he really wants to help. The one at the old house was built in and knobless and I miss it.
I'm quite enchanted by Tenalady's gingham country kitschen - is it like the one Goldilocks breaks into?

I used to sellotape a tupperware type box over the dial - lots and lots of sellotape

I switch mine off at the wall if ds starts fiddling. He gets bored, fast, and wanders off.
