Memory foam mattress for children ?

Anyone have any up to date info on safety?
I've just bought toppers for 6 & 8 yr olds and didn't think of any issues...until I googled!
Are they safe ?? Is there any research to say otherwise?

There's stuff on the web which suggests they're not safe. I'd get standard foam mattresses instead.

Mine get really hot in bed. Ds1 has a summer duvet all year round so it's not something I would use.

Oh bum, I already bought them! Didn't enter my stupid head
Is there any evidence to suggest toxicity?

There's loads of stuff on this on the web. Unless you're a scientist and fancy sifting through it, just ditch the mattress toppers - big deal (take to tip don't sell on, obvs).
