carpet stain remover has bleached patches..

arghhh vaxed carpet saw some stubborn stains so used the vax carpet stain remover. Did exactly as bottle said but now have lots of lovely very belached patches on the carpet. I know the carpet isnt dirty as I had not long vaxed it and kids were in bed so what do I do????

Did the same thing a year ago ended up buying a new carpet sorry i can't give you good news.

nope - that's it. Don't try mild washing up liquid - it just spreads mess out. steam cleaning does not help. only solution is to bleach the whole lot. our stair carpet is ruined by using carpet cleaner.

Are you insured? What a nightmare

Could you put the stain remover all over th ecarpet so at least it looks the same?

I bet if you look on the bottle it says that you must patch test in an inconspicuous area first so that you can't sue them

countessdracula we are insured but its just the nightmare of it as we have a through lounge and dining room which is essentailly the majority of our house so to redecorate[as we did last nov/dec] or refloor is a major task. Looks like I might have to try and effect everywhere....main patch is in front of one of the couches were it was dirty due to dh wearing his shoes there..might just have to make him wear his shoes all over it again and hope it goes a darker colour. Suppose we are lucky that the carpet is a sand colour but the white patches are very evident...sigh
