Help!!!! Mark on my coffee table!

My coffee table is oak effect (its pretty cheap and I don't really like it but can't afford to replace it right now)

Dp put a glass Pyrex dish on it and its left a large ring mark, I've tried polishing it but its not budging.

Any ideas how to get rid of it?

Brown shoe polish?

When you say oak effect do you mean like plastic/laminate conti board or real wood made oak colour?

On wood, I have had some success with brasso polish wadding but it can make a Matt surface more shiny so be cautious or resign yourself to doing the whole top to match, which takes ages. BUT I have no idea what this does to the colour if it's stained as I only did this on a burn on a pine coffee table and a ring on an oak table.

If it's more of a laminate then I am afraid I have no idea.

Light sanding (but obv not if its not wood)

Yeah it's like a fake wood laminate job.

I read that rubbing a Brazil nut, obviously shelled, over the mark, the oils from the nut will help.....
