I spent all day yesterday searching for the source of a very unpleasant smell in my sitting room and finally found a leaky cup of milk that ds had secreted under a chair.
So, how do I get the smell out? all I had in the house yesterday was some dettol spray which hasn't really helped

Make up a warm solution with washing powder and scrub

Baking soda, mix it up in some water to form a paste, leave it over night, wash off with water in the morning and rub with lemon, should do the trick

put bi carb of soda on the carpet and leave overnight
hoover up next morning

may need to be repeated but bi-carb gets rid of foul smells

another vote for bicqar of soda.. brill - removes them smell..

once you've cleaded I'd sprinkle on dry over night and hoover up in the morning

so I can'#t get my new wood flooring yet then?
Don't think I have any baking soda so will try the washing powder and see if that works first, thanks
