How long does paint last and will this look ok?

We decorated almost two years ago and since then the leftover paint has been in the shed.

We have to have some work done that involves re-plastering. Can we use the old paint and will it look normal or will it be obvious where we've had the work done? Do we need to paint the whole wall? It's is covered in shelves which wot come off in one piece so I'm desperate to avoid repainting the whole wall if possible.

I think you will need to paint the whole wall tbh as the colour would've probably dinged over time and the new spots will stand out imo. You could always try washing the wall first and see if that helps to brighten up the colour

It's a stupid matte paint that isn't washable. A choice I bitterly regret as the whole house is covered in marks!
