Oh that it's come to this: toaster recommendations please

I am becoming my mother.

I'd like a toaster that you can fit a regular store bought slice of bread in, a slice made by a bread maker and a crumpet. Not all at the same time.

Is it too much to ask ?

Does such a beast exist ?

We have a four slice toaster Duralit from the John Lewis website. Takes thick crumpets, has a warming rack. We have two dds, it's ideal. Good luck.

I love my Dualit too. They are expensive but ours has been going for 11 years without any problems.
Don't get a Dualit kettle though, utter rubbish.

Put large slices in lengthways. Crumpets and thick slices all fine.

I've got one of the cheaper dualits mainly because I didn't want to bother with the dial thing like the traditional ones have. The slots are extra wide and supermarket bread fits in fine. Plus you can choose to toast one side and warm the other which is useful for bagels and muffins. I really like it.
